Columbus Institute Legal Relief Fund

The Columbus Institute Legal Relief Fund offers legal assistance grants to low-income Latino individuals and families. Whether facing issues in family law, immigration, or personal safety, we’re here to ensure our community gets the support it needs when it matters most.

Emergency Legal Help for Those Who Need It Most

If you or your family are facing a legal crisis and can’t afford the help you need, the Columbus Institute Legal Relief Fund may be able to assist. We provide grants for professional legal services in:
• Family law (custody, divorce, guardianship)
• Immigration matters (status, deportation defense, DACA)
• Domestic violence and personal safety
Funds are paid directly to attorneys or legal providers — never to individuals — to ensure responsible and timely use.

How the Fund Works

  1. Submit Your Application – Use the form above or email us at legal@columbusinstitute.org.

  2. Community Review – A volunteer committee of legal and community leaders will review your request confidentially.

  3. Direct Legal Support – If approved, funds are paid straight to your legal provider to cover essential services.

Our process is fast, fair, and focused on getting help to those who need it — when they need it.
